Questions & Answers for Schwinn Schwinn Tango 20-in Folding Hybrid Bike

Question

How big is it once it folds up?

Could you, say, fold it up and put it into a milk crate? I'm trying to get a sense of how small is small (or how big is big) when it's compacted.

It won't fit in a milk crate. You can fold it up and take it inside a store that has shopping carts and fit it within the bin of even a small shopping cart

Hard to say exactly what size it is once it folds up (I retuned mine the next day so I no longer have it), but it will definitely not fit into a milk crate.

Is this bike suitable for adults?

no it is not suitable for adults. the front chain ring is too small. even in the highest gear you will have to peddle like mad to keep moving at a reasonable speed. the Schwinn company states they meant this bike for children. too bad. they are missing a large market. . the seat post is not very long either. if you would like a folder bike get one with a 52 tooth front chain ring, and make sure the seat post extends a comfortable height , with lots extra. real adult sized six speed folders are adaptable for all ages...

Definitely, I would say it can accommodate adults from 5-ft tall and up. I am 6-ft 2 and ride it comfortably. The seat post is long.

Hello Ace, I too have been searching for the same bike for 3 weeks now and it should be arriving In canadian Tire Stores within the next few weeks. Get a rain check for it for the sale price of $169 then the store will call you when one is avaialable. Also when looking up other CTC stock on the web, make sure you delete your Postal Code before you search another city and/or location. Cheers and good luck...

Question

When should I expect this to go on sale?

I saw this bike on here two days ago and intended to buy it but couldn't find the time to make it to the store. Now that I do have time, it's $20 more expensive. I can't buy it now without feeling a little ripped-off.

they are on sale now at $20. off. Do not expect a big sale price on folding bikes because they are a breed apart from other bikes.

Canadian Tire always strives to find competitive pricing for our customers, but unfortunately we cannot comment on when our products will be going on sale in the future.

To stay connected on upcoming sales with email alerts, you must first become a member of ‘My Canadian Tire’, please visit our website at: www.canadiantire.ca. At the top of the home page click on ‘New Account’.

1. While browsing canadiantire.ca, as a signed in user, click the "Sign up for a Sale Alerts" button on select product pages to set up an Alert. You can set up Alerts for up to 20 products at one time.
2. We'll track all the products on your list for up to 6 months. If any or all of the products go on sale, you'll get advance notice in an Alert email two days before the flyer sale starts. As you will receive this notice before the flyer sale starts, you will not see sale pricing if you click through to our site before the start date.
3. If you no longer wish to receive an Alert for any of the products on your list, you can Delete the Alert or click "Cancel Alert" within the Alert email you receive.
4. If you purchase an item on your list, don't forget to return to your account, remove the item from your Alert list, and then add another product, if you wish.

We don’t have a specific weight limit on our bikes because in addition to rider weight, factors such as bike style and riding style can also affect the bike. We would suggest the consumers are within the weight limit as long as they ride the bike in a respectful manner.

Hello all bikers, This is Bikerboy answering my own question. Schwinn USA e-mailed me back stating that this bike is probably too small for me and to search for a larger bike. Apparently the Schwinn Tango 6 speed folding one is to be used primarily for Juvenille and Young Adults...There was no problem returning the bike to Canadian Tire for the full refund and the bike shop also refunded my $18 for the extension Seat Post.. Cheers,,,

Hi, one thing I didn't like when I got my bike is that it didn't come with any paper with any specifications or instructions or warranty. I don't know if they went missing in the store or if the manufacturer doesn't provide them. At the store where I got my bike, they told me that my receipt was all I needed for warranty, so I guess the best place to turn for answers would be the manufacturer's website. I'm 156 pounds, and the bike feels pretty solid. It doesn't wiggle in the joints or anything that would make me feel like it could come apart easily. It has a seat in the back for a passenger. The limitation is in my strength to get the bike moving, but the bike itself doesn't mind the weight.
