You should have your lug wrench (the one that came with the vehicle) at your side. If the 3KO doesn't take the nuts off, just get them started with the lug wrench. It's still going to expedite the work. Likewise when you put them back on. Finish tighten the lug nuts with the lug wrench. This way you'll know that the same lug wrench is going to get them off when you and the missus are broke down because of a flat at the worst possible time. By all means use a torque wrench if you've got it.

I have used this to remove Lug Nuts and put them back on. It torques mine to 110 foot pounds easily. Just make sure the Batteries are fully charged. On here someone mentioned as you are loosening or tightening to use your other hand to hand crank it while impacting. Works perfectly when you do that. Though buy the $15 torque wrench and check.

Not sure exactly what you mean. I use mine to change the tires on my 5th wheel trailer frequently. Just made sure the batteries are fully charged. Loved it a lot.

No, I does not open any lug nut on my car. It's probly a good powerfull tool but not strong enough for lug nuts.

It didn't work for me. The lug nuts were only torqued to 75lb-ft and this gun is rated at 1050in-ft (87lb-ft). I think you need an impact drill of with at least 1400 in-lb (116lb-ft) to loosen lug nuts, especially if they've been on a while and a bit "stuck".

Question

I use the Maximum Cordless 3KO Impact NI-CD batts daily. Should I charge the batteries everyday or should wait til they're completely out?

Im wondering if recharging them every night will diminish their strength and durability. Thanx in advance. it'S model 54-3665-2 with the Ni-Cd batteries. 14.4V

Anonymous makes a good point I think too - about charging a battery when it is hot. Perhaps the best overall solution is to allow a battery to cool after it has been run down to bottom power level...remove it...let stand and cool ....meanwhile run the other battery...then charge up the cooled down battery originally used. Topping up is not good and as Anonymous advises, it probably doubles the sin if the battery is hot.

I understand it is best to use one battery unitl near dead, then fully charge it while using the alternate battery. As with any rechargable battery, this practice enables maximum storage of charge, and should lengthen overall life span.
It makes sense as ultimately, you are then not " processing" the battery as frequently.

Actually Tucker below is wrong, batteries memory issues occur when a batterie is charged when hot. That's why most high end batteries chargers comes with a small fan built in. You should always wait before charging a batterie after use.

Well I charged mine up every morning prior to using them. I did not use them every day. When they were idle for a while, like a couple weeks or month, I would recharge them.

answer 5
Dont charge them everyday. Ni-Cd batters have whats known as memory problems. What that means is that when you charge a battery when its not low, it decreases the capacity. You can reduce your battery life to almost nothing that way. Dont drain it down to nothing either because that can also damage the battery. The best time to charge is when it bogs down driving a screw, or drilling a hole.

Im not sure what you have seen but they offer a 3/8" impact socket holder with the usual 1/4" bit holder adapter to put on it... or they offer it the other way around.. i use the 1/4" driver with the socket adapter and i have no problems... there are drill bits now that have the 1/4" addapter on them
