I placed it on two bricks before mounting on wall to see how it worked. But yes, it does me mounting, for the way the unit works. Air as to get through the bottom to go through the unit and heat.

It requires mounting, the bracket comes with the unit.

This heater has no fan, just heat. I'm not sure how it works, but ir give great heat.

There is no fan, however it's more efficient than the baseboard heater because it creates its own air circulation.

If the garage is well insulated...probably. However this is a 120 volt 1500w unit so it will be quite the "power Sucker". You probably won't be able to use any other devices on that circuit.

The heater is good for a room up to 150 square feet. If he has a small garage, depending on it’s size, this could work.

Yes the heat is deflected through the vents in the front. The manual has specific dimensions for mounting near posible combustables

Personally I would toss the unit. But if you are using other devices on the same circuit (not necessarily the same outlet). Multiple breaker trips you can burn out the switch with surges. Not sure if this is your problem but if you have been tripping the power to the unit its more than likely the issue...Overloading the 120volt circuit.

No, this heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or in wet or moist indoor locations. Never place the heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water containers.
