Question

why does the warning light suddenly come on

several times now for no reason the radiator has made a loud clicking sound and the warning light in the middle has come on. Should I worry that the thing is going to catch fire? Or does the warning light mean that it has switched itself off?

Through the description given by the user, it looks like the overheat protection triggered, when the temperature inside the unit reached the limitation. The overheat switch will start to work and a low "click" sound will occur and the heating element will turn off and the caution light(the middle one) will come on instead. Once the temperature cools down for several minutes, the heating element can automatically recover to work, it's a normal protection, no need to worry.

The user needs to check the heater operation guide and make sure the heater operated as instructed.

a.) put on heater on firm level surface, attached to the caster before operation.

b.) make sure no obstruction near the heater, especially that no objects like clothes are put on or around the unit.

c.) don't place the heater on high-piled carpet.

could just be a burned out bulb, or defective panel. You've probably tried this but if not put the power selector to III and the thermostat all the way up then push the comfort temp button. Good luck.

There are two options we can try to see if we can clear trouble you are having. If they don't work we suggest you return your heater to your local Canadian Tire store for warranty.

Option one:
Check that the setting temperature is not set lower than the current room temperature. Set the desired temperature higher than the current temperature to restart the heater.

Option two:

Rest Instructions:

1) TURN THE UNIT OFF.

2) UNPLUG UNIT WAIT 10 MINUTES.

3) PLUG IN AND TURN ON.

Once you turn on the comfort button, the heater will automatically pre-set to a temperature at around 23℃, this is a temperature most people will feel comfort.

Once turn the comfort button off, the user can set the desired temperature by turn the thermostat knob by manual.

Question

how much on electric bill

if used daily, how much does your electric bill increase

The maths for working out how much any appliance costs are:
kW x unit electricity price x hours of use

(Note: 1 kW = 1000 W - so if the power rating is expressed in W you will need to divide that number by 1000 to get kW.)

So, for this heater and in Quebec where we live, the calculations for one hour would be:
600W setting = 0.6 x $0.05 x 1 = $0.03
900W setting = 0.9 x $0.05 x 1= $0.045
1500W setting = 1.5 x $0.05 x 1 = $0.075

Hydro usage depends on the heater's setting and duration of use. There's three settings: 600W, 900W or 1500W. There's also a thermostat control. The lower the thermostat, the lower the hydro.

My room is 100 square feet. I found that I use my heater at a very low setting. Also, I only use it a few hours a day when I'm in my room.

Try using an appliance usage calculator. Enter the number of hours you plan to use the heater, and the estimated setting. Hydro One Brampton offers a handy appliance usage calculator that you can access through Google.
