Question

re: B&D Countertop Conv. Oven, 6-slice #43-0652-6, is there no broiler pan included? Only the baking pan? How do you broil without the broiler pan?!

If the broiler pan is not included, do you know where I can find one that will fit into the provided baking pan?

2. Set temperature control knob to 450 Broil position.
3. Insert slide rack into upper slot. Set the cooking FUNCTION selector knob to Broil.
4. Open oven door and use the bake pan as a drip tray. Insert it under the slide rack on
the rack support rails (Bb).
Important: You must set the timer or select Stay On for the oven to function.
5. Turn timer past 20 and then turn back or forward to desired broiling time. Select Stay
On, if you want to control cooking time yourself.
6. Place food on the slide rack.
Note: Be sure the top edge of the food or container is at least 1½” (3.81 cm) away from
the upper heating elements.
Important: Food should not extend beyond the edges of the bake pan to avoid drippings
from falling onto the heating elements.
7. The first time you broil an item in this oven, cook according to recipe or package
instructions and check at minimum time to see if it is done.

The item is not backlit, so it’s possible they are having a hard time seeing it. However, there shouldn’t be an extra dark cover on top so they might want to take it back to the store for review

Question

Are there supposed to be door springs?

The door of the unit just drops if it is let go. My other toaster oven had springs on the door so that it flipped back up if it was let go. As this is mainly a glass door, I would like to know if there is supposed to be a spring on the door or not.

No there aren't any springs. To open the oven door when hot, use an oven mitt to grip handle and gently pull forward to bring door down until it rests on the counter.

A quartz heater heats objects directly with relative uniform heat distribution.

Cal-rod heaters are an older technology, emit a stable heat source, but slower to heat up than quartz. Heat distribution not as even.
